So in our last article we touched on the cost of buying into gaming. Now we’re going to touch on how to do it as cheap as possible.
* Check with your local store. Some stores sell second hand games at a reduced price.
* Ask people at your local store. Most people that play tabletop games have two or more armies/ factions. They may be willing to sell one to you either in part or in full. The bonus of this option is you usually get an army that’s fully assembled and either fully or partially painted.
* The Internet. It might seem a little bit of a D’uhh but it’s some times over looked by people starting. Site’s such as Ebay and gaming forum’s will always have something for sale .
* Facebook. There are many different gaming group pages on Facebook. All you have to do is join the group and ask.
These are just a few thoughts off the top of my head but I’m sure there is plenty more options available.

If you find a club or a role playing group you get to play without having to buy anything (possibly beyond drinks if like my group you’re based in a pub). I found I’d got a local boardgame club to me that I didn’t know about by checking http://www.meetup.com/
I’ll also give a plug (if you want a VERY cheap roleplaying game) for Basic Fantasy. It’s an old school D&D clone that is completely free to download and you can order a hard copy from Amazon for next to nothing (http://www.amazon.co.uk/Basic-Fantasy-Role-Playing-Game/dp/1482355124/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1408864644&sr=8-1&keywords=basic+fantasy+roleplaying+game). I wouldn’t buy their adventures but it’s really easy to convert any basic adventures across.
